Royalty audit software for publishers, catalogs and business managers

Audits check a sample, every few years.Inverse checks every row, every time.

Inverse is software that audits royalty statements. Add your statements and contracts. It recalculates every payment, line by line, and shows each underpayment with the rows that prove it.

Illustrative catalog and figures.

How Inverse works

1Read

It reads every statement.

PDFs, spreadsheets and system exports from PROs, sub-publishers, labels and distributors. Inverse identifies every column, whatever the payor's layout, and puts every row into one ledger. Nothing on the page is skipped.

2Recompute

It does the math again.

Your contracts are read clause by clause and turned into checks: rates, shares, fees and deductions. Code recalculates what every row should have paid and compares it with what was paid.

3Prove

It shows you the proof.

Each finding comes with the rows behind it, the clause it breaks and, when your contract sets one, the deadline to claim, plus a request drafted to the payor. Anything it can't prove is raised as a question, never as money owed.

AI reads the paperwork.Code does the math.

Statements and contracts are messy, so Inverse uses AI to read them. The money is never left to AI. Every figure in a report is calculated by code and traced to a statement row or a contract clause.

  • Every column accounted for.

Each column on a statement is identified. An unlabeled money column only counts once the row arithmetic proves what it is.

  • No figure comes from a model.

Before a report is finished, every dollar amount in it is checked against the engine's math and the contract text. Anything else is marked unverifiable.

  • Every contract term gets a check.

Each term maps to a coded check. If a term can't be tested, the report says so instead of guessing.

  • Formats learned, then re-proven.

Once Inverse learns a payor's layout, it proves that reading again on every new statement before trusting it.

An audit reads a sample. Inverse reads every row.

Illustrative: 432 rows from one statement. Errors don't cluster where a sample happens to look.

Inverse doesn't replace your accounting system or your audit firm. It tells them exactly where to look.

Nine months. Then the money is gone.

ASCAP allows nine months after the end of a statement year to raise a claim. Contracts set their own windows. An underpayment found late is usually found too late.

Small leaks.Big numbers at scale.

Share that goes unpaid

$200,000

a year, quietly unpaid.

$600,000 across three years between audits.

An example, not a promise. We start the range at 2%. Your real rate depends on your statements, and a pilot measures it.

Results

$664.77

Paid back by ASCAP, on a songwriter catalog Inverse checked.

Inverse was proven on the people who get paid. Songwriters and artists run their own statements through it, and payors have paid the findings back. A label has credited an artist account, and unsupported deductions have been raised with a publisher on an 18,571-line statement.

Start withone statement.

  1. Send one statement.

A recent PRO, sub-publisher or label statement your team has already reviewed. No integration, nothing to install.

  2. See every finding.

We walk your team through it, row by row, with the evidence and the request for each one.

  3. Decide on the evidence.

If Inverse finds money your process missed, we scope a rollout. If it doesn't, you've spent an afternoon.

Private by design.Plain about it, too.

Inverse runs on SOC 2 Type II audited infrastructure. That audit covers the infrastructure, not Inverse as a company, and we'll say so in any security review.

Questions teams ask first.

Is Inverse an AI tool?

It uses AI to read statements and contracts, because every payor formats them differently. The math is done by code. Every amount in a report traces to a statement row or a contract clause, and anything that can't be traced is never reported as owed.

Do we need an integration?

No. Upload statements as you receive them, in PDF or spreadsheet form, including exports from royalty systems such as Curve. Nothing touches your accounting system.

Does this replace our royalty team or audit firm?

No. Your accounting system records what payors report and your audit firm goes deep every few years. Inverse checks the incoming numbers themselves, on every statement, and gives your team the evidence.

How far back can we raise a claim?

It depends on the payor and the contract. ASCAP allows nine months after the end of a statement year, and contracts set their own objection windows. Add the contract and each report shows the deadline it sets.

Is our data used to train AI?

No. Statements are used only to run your analysis, are never sold, and are contractually excluded from AI model training. A Data Processing Agreement is available before you send anything.

How is it priced?

Business managers and management companies can use the monthly roster plan, priced per artist. For publishers and catalogs, pricing is scoped after the pilot, based on statement volume.
